Will be looking forward to seeing it. Tran Anh Hung is a great director, "Cyclo" is really a beautiful film, and "the scent of green papaya" also an astonishing movie.

I wonder if the musical track will include many Beatles songs - at least Norwegian Wood, I hope - a quiet classic.

I wonder how they will explain the situation, which is at the core of the book that one woman has the problem of "not getting wet".

Tran is an amazing director, and if he's doing it, it'll be good. A bit artsy for some, I'm sure, but that won't make the movie suffer. I'm sure it will be heart-wrenching, and since Murakami took part in the making process you know it will be excellent (he usually forbids adaptations after someone made a god-awful version of the aforementioned book).

    I'm looking forward to it.

    electric2004: That's easy: exposition.

I really enjoyed the film version of 'Tony Takitani,' but Norwegian Wood is so memorable to me, and such a treasure, I don't think I'll ever watch any film adaptation of it.

If it's faithful to the book it will be turgid and dire.

Sorry, turbid, though most people will be bored turgid.
