Emi Takei endures heat for Sokenbi tea winter TV ad campaign

TOKYO —

Actress Emi Takei, 17, endured the rigors of filming a winter TV commercial campaign in summer. From Oct 29, the starlet will be seen all bundled up and in the snow for Coca-Cola Japan’s new commercials for Sokenbi Tea Hot.

Takei said the commercials were filmed in September when it was still very hot. She had to wear a white coat, knitted hat, scarf, and long boots. In addition, she said the lighting on the set was hot—making the whole shoot a challenge for her.

Set in snowy winter time, the commercial shows Takei holding the product and describing it as “warm, fragrant and delicious.” Heart-shaped steam rises from the tea. In another version of the commercial, Takei plays “Oshikuramanju” (a children’s game in which kids stand back to back and shove each other vigorously) with her friends. They drink the tea and heart-shaped steam rises again. The message of the ad is to enjoy the tea with a warm heart and warm body under a winter sky.

There is a children's game which involves pushing each other hard? What the heck is wrong with Japan.

I'll bet she looks good in those long boots.

Poor woman, bet she's the only actor that has ever had to do a reverse season shoot.

Maybe they should have done the commercial in Australia, where the seasons are reversed.

There's an adult game too. It's called sumo.

That sokenbicha tune is hard to get out of your head once it is in there.

Another 17 year old that should be in HS with a knee length skirt studying and not prancing around on the Teli

Perhaps she's paying for her approaching college education....and/or the Big Marriage Machine that eagerly awaits as well. At least she isn't sticking three fingers in weirdo directions. Rating: benign.
