TOKYO —
Ex-bikini model Noriko Aota, 40, will take on a dramatic role in her new TV drama “Mama’s God,” which is about a single mother with three children from different fathers.
Aota, who plays the mother, said at a press conferee, “As I worked on the drama, I gradually understood kids are very precious for everybody. Since I’ve not been a good person so far, I found the story very educational.”
The drama will air from May 5 on the TBS network.

I find her blasphemous music to be in poor taste, but other than that I have nothing against Miss Bubble Aota.
I'm sure she'll do just fine as an actress in a drama. Lack of acting skills has never stopped anyone before.

wow, some people here are really pretentious! imagine thinking that your dull life teaching or translating English is somehow even remotely better than her glittery, glamorous life full of exotic locations, cash, rich men and fame. Oh please, just because she has not had a child and modeled in bikinis you think you are better than her? By whose permission do you judge her? Your own? From your moral high ground? Lets get the lion on the line here, You have no moral high ground.

She is 40? Looks more like 49. Instead of playing a mother role, she can start with a granny-role, or as Mama-yasan. Would fit better.

papasmurf: spot on with your comments
I guess she is conveniently casting aside the "Bubbles Aota" silliness for this more serious role.
Business is business.

A quick google shows quite a lot of Noriko, not a lot of bikini. Maybe she's just from the Bikini Atoll.

At least she is honest.

Good for Noriko-san to fulfill her goals and try her hand at another career. Best of wishes to her!

she may want to either quit the lungbusters or get some teeth whitening before she gives it a crack.

How often in the west do you read that a bikini model has landed a dramatic role in a major movie. That is just not usually their career path except in Japan. Also. in the West who really cares what a bikini model have to say unless she is married to some rich guy who is about to kick the bucket and leave it all to her. What got me was her sudden realization that kids have value and is precious to those who have them.

What's Japanese for "rode hard and hung up wet"?
What, you never saw a Bond movie? They're chocobloc with biki models in dramatic roles.

Totally right, TV dramas in Japan are so far from real life, well I guess US soaps are as well.

I'm sure she's not going to tell you, greenteaonsens.
