Ex-Morning Musume member Ai Kago regrets cutting wrists

CHIBA —

Former Morning Musume singer Ai Kago, 20, said Friday that she regretted cutting her wrists. Kago was speaking at a press conference at Narita Airport in Chiba Prefecture before leaving for Hong Kong to film “Super Chef.” Kago, who was fired by her management company for underage smoking, has only recently resumed her showbiz activities.

“I still have the scars where I cut my wrists. I know it’s the worst thing. I’ve made up my mind never to do such a thing again.” As for her smoking, she said, “I was naïve when I was a minor. I no longer smoke.”

the graphic and ad right below this article is for a "Precision 4 inch CNC Dicing and Cutting Saw". Kind of an icky juxtaposition if you ask me.

Hurray for the Japanese media for destroying the life of a 19 year old (last year) because she smoked and had a BOYFRIEND!

Poor girl. The Japanese entertainment industry scares me. The cost of a lower crime rate because of shame culture is that everyone hates themselves.

A fair trade off? I think not.

If Japanese culture is so bad and oppressive, then why are all of you so interested in it? Are you all sickos or is it a matter of what is bad for Japanese citizens is good for outsiders who wish to take advantage of the situation? After all, isn’t a Japanese girl raised in a shame culture more easy to manipulate and impress then a confident girl raised in the West? I got news for you, all the things you like about Japanese culture are connected to the shame culture much as all the things we like about western culture are tied to violence, aggression, crime, alienation – and even doped up athletes and (gasp) feminism. So pick your poison as they say.
