Exile to create official Samurai Blue song for Japan's soccer team
Entertainment ( 33 )
TOKYO —
Pop band and dance group Exile have been given the job of creating the official anthem song for the country’s Samurai Blue soccer team.
The idea for the collaboration was born when Exile leader Hiro, 40, met national team coach Takeshi Okada, 53. Exile’s song will become the official song to support the Japan national team throughout the group stages of the South African World Cup and, hopefully, further.

How appropriate. When the samurai warriors carry their sorry selves (yes I had to restrain myself here) back to Japan after a poor showing at the World Cup, they can head straight to this exile. Hang your heads in shame boys. Top four was not to be, was it. Do not pass the soaplands. Go straight to exile.

how could this 38 member boy band create an inspiring song for the local marble competition, let alone a world cup soccer anthem?! what they need is a rock band like Bz.

Every time i hear it for the next year and a half I will be able to talk about their 0-3 record. Thanks EXILE.

wouldnt they be better of making a support dance given that 11 of the 12 members are support 'dancers'... if it was a dance, we wouldnt have to hear it...

Rogue, why the negativity? What has the Japanese soccer team ever done to you? I'm sure they will go 0-3 as the other 3 are top 20 teams, but there's nothing wrong with people trying to cheer them on. I'm looking forward to a good tune by Exile.

Sorry. I think it had less to do with negativity and more to do with 5am nonsense.
You rock exile. I love you.

A soccer team that thinks it's world class and a pop group that thinks it's soulful.

I just listened to some of their music on TV, it is HORRIBLE. real men never dance and the music is just weak. I hated it.

Not bad singers I guess but yes why do they need all those nancy boy dancers prancing around like school girls?? And the japanese soccer team?? Ha they'll be back very quickly. But never mind, the TV will be ecstatic about them anyway.

The good thing is that we won't be hearing that god awful song for too many times as Japan will probably be out of it after 3 games.

Hey, Plasticmonkey - Exile don
t have soul? Come on! Those guys have spent hours at the tanning salon to get a kind of dark look. Theyve got those street-smart tracks in their hair. Sometimes they look "hard" at the camera too. And then someone like you comes along and disses them. Tchok!0

I am sure they will create a beautiful song with nice lyrics that will reach the hearts of the fans. Not a cluster of words with no meaning which somebody calls a poem. Something really creative, with a great sound and musicality.

LoveUSA; "BVeautiful song" from a manufactured pop band!! Hahahaha.
As shallow as a worms grave.

I am certain that the lyrics will be better than all the poems i have read recently. About music - Exile is the highest standard of pop music in japan. I am sure I will love the song.

do we need such dark predictions during the Christmas/New Year's Holidays? I am sure they will make a very catchy song which can be sung by the fans with good melody, rhythm and nice words. I am glad that Exile were chosen and not Arashi or morning Musume. It can be murch worse, Exile are the best choice.

there, there, it is Christmas, please smile and think that the world cup is a very enjoyable event and the song supporting the team of Japan will bring smiles to the faces of many fans. The song will be light and would energize both fans and players and will create good mood for everybody.

Have you seen for example Rain dancing (the guy who plays in Ninja Assasin), that will change your opinion - real man really dancing very well.

Classic choice to give the song rights to "Exile". Setting themselves up for loss from the get-go.
I used to like Exile, actually, back when they were 6 or so members and before they suddenly became the... how many are there now? This song is potential suicide for them, though, since if the Samurai Blue go down as badly as everyone predicts, it'll get no play after that.

Exile, I love their TV show yesterday. As mentioned they will for sure make a great song for the Japanese team.
