Was the play in English or Japanese? A pity there is no more information here.

With many of these Japanese celebrities who go the US to perform, I'm interested to know who actually goes to watch them. And if it is regular people going to watch, is it because they go to see something (or someone in this case) unusual or they think those foreign entertainers really have something to offer the audience.

I think it was Globe, they did a big concert in Hawaii quite a few years ago and it caused quite a sensation here. But when the footage was shown on tv the audience seemed to be all Japanese.

But when the footage was shown on tv the audience seemed to be all Japanese.

I think that is the case with most Japanese entertainers putting on shows in The States. Of course there are exceptions, but for the most part the shows will contain a large majority of Japanese people.
