Did someone notice how specialisated is people is Japan?. They try their best efforst to be good at one thing and finally sometimes they really do. For example this girl is absolutely good at skating, but she can not use her brain to say something intelligent. This is the bad point about my theory... they can be really good at ONE (and only) thing.

I wish singers would focus on becoming good singers, and actors on becoming good actors over here. These 'talent' that do everything are so terrible.

Hey "THEPRO", what's up with you?... do you think a human being can do only one thing?... a person can do anyhthing what he or she want to do, many people have many talents, many actors are good singers too or good writers or poets or have an university degree (architect, lawyer, for example), the point is if they are good enough at that activities, not mediocre "empty heads", like many people in japanese television. If you are good at many things... Why dont try to do many things?. Now i see you are japanese, that mediocre point of view "you only can do that, ONLY THAT", is absolutely japanese.

that's great, two boneheads for the price of one

  • Sarge at 05:12 PM JST - 6th June

    "two boneheads"

Hmmm... Ayaka is a sucessful songwriter, and Miki is a sucessful skater who won a gold medal...

  • Altria at 05:13 PM JST - 6th June

Ando didn't win a gold medal, and Ayaka got famous for doing an awful rip-off of Jupiter/I vow to thee my country.

Moderator: Ando won the gold medal in 2007.

  • Sarge at 05:28 PM JST - 6th June

Altria - Re-read the article - Ando did indeed win a gold medal, among numerous other skating competitions.

  • capone at 06:01 PM JST - 6th June

there were no olympics in 2007

Moderator: She won the gold medal at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships, which the story says. That ends discussion on this point.

  • cleo at 06:10 PM JST - 6th June

So anyone who has never won a gold medal is a 'bonehead'.

I once got a gold star for an essay I wrote at primary school, does that count?

  • capone at 06:25 PM JST - 6th June

no, she's a bonehead...the winning or not winning a gold medal has nothing to do with it..and congrats Cleo

  • Sarge at 09:21 PM JST - 6th June

    "she's a bonehead"

    Because...?

Hello? "A gold medal" is normally meant to refer to the 1st place prize in the Olympic Games held every four years (unless suspended by political reasons or boycotts etc.) 1st place at the ISU WFSC (awarded with a Gold medal) is different. Do readers agree or disagree with this assessment?

Disagree. A gold medal is a gold medal, wherever and whenever it's won. 1st place prize in the Olympic Games is an Olympic Gold Medal. You can have the capitals for free.
