Are there Russian versions of Sylvester the Cat and Tweety Bird?

Everybody in Russia is accustomed to Harry Potters, Pokemons, Barbies, but it is really surprising to see a Russian cartoon character in Japan. " Tieburasika" is very popular in Japan, - a shop assistant says. - We started selling it last autumn. Small children do not buy this toy, though, but young girls of 20-25 years old do. They think that the toy is very sweet. We play videos of the cartoon - people buy them too." -it's a big girl thing don't expect to understand it
so instead of Snoopys she wants Che-bu(s) now?

I'm sorry... what's the "news" here ? Isn't this just another misguided Japanese adult ? One that can't deal with the realities of growing up and insists on clinging to childhood memories. Isn't this just the "Peter Pan" syndrome being played out in public ? Any psychiatrists out there willing to give this some serious analysis ?

Right, she obviously never attended Dr. Westurn's School of Discipline and Hard Knocks, nor did she receive your lecture on "How to Grow Up Properly and Say No to Silly Toys, Especially Cheburashka. And Hello Kitty."
Why do I insist on reading JT forum postings...

This story got the useless translation it deserved, methinks.
Kijimuna at 10:59 AM JST - 3rd July
soothsayer, agreed. The better translation would have been, "my agent wanted more money this month so he told me I had to do this because the studio in Russia promised to see if they could look into putting me as an extra in a commercial to increase my exposure with Russian judges and I am happy to say anything you want me to even if it means I say it is cute and I have lots of them which is a total lie." Phew!
