Former pop idol Momoe Yamguchi's son debuts as rock singer

TOKYO —

A son of 1970s pop idol Momoe Yamaguchi, 49, and actor Tomokazu Miura, 56, has made his professional singing debut. Yutaro Miura, 24, vocalist-guitarist for Peaky SALT, made his debut on Nov 26 with the release of the band’s album “Itoshi setsunanamida.” Miura formed the band together with his classmates at junior high school.

Peaky SALT’s song is being used in a TV commercial for a House Foods health drink for women.

    Good luck Yutaro! I'm a big fan of your Mummy's songs though I came to Japan long after she had retired. I think she's a true singer besides Mayumi Itsuwa.....:)
