Who? Never watched these "talent" shows. Can't wait for them to bring back Wipeout!

I am surprised it lasted this long. I have watched a few episodes over the past few years and find The Voice and X Factor to be much more entertaining.

DaDude: "I am surprised it lasted this long."
It's only lasted this long because FOX literally had nothing else to boost ratings until Empire, and even depending ONLY on that show, solid as it is, is a gamble. FOX has screwed up with its choices so badly in the last few years (cutting shows for no reason in favor of renewing shows that fail less than a season later) it HAD to keep idol on despite the falling viewership.
Idol was an amazing show for the first few years, and kept going till about season sever or eight, but after that began it's rapid descent into indifference and death. It had its time, but should have stopped after the original judges started leaving.

At least it brought out some people who could actually survive scrutiny with talent, instead of being chosen by an agency and being ordained a "talent" when they haven't proven themselves nor survived scrutiny.

Don't know if it is too bad or not. I only watched it a couple of times, but I fell in love with Adam Lambert. He is performing withi Queen now. He is not Freddie Murcury, but he has his own good style.

I am so glad that the horrible Fox Network is ending one of it's jingoistic, America first, right wing propaganda programs.
Oh wait...
Sorry, I thought I was in Japan Today's Politics section.

Once Cowell left it went completely downhill. Its amazing how bad the "talent" got in the past few years compared to before that. Partly because of idiotic judging, of course.

"American Idol" a short while ago declared that this approaching season will be its final and 1 of its most well-known contestants - - is eternally grateful to the present.

This show was from the start a ridiculous encouragement for false egotism and public display and a horror and an insult to any intelligent person in the USA. Sadly it started a whole flock of imitators and the so called judges were among the worst examples of this egotistic display in the whole scene.
