Only until they screw it up with family friendly corporate BS.

In any case, I want to see more Twi'lek slave girls.

Yet as with any reboot, there are risks. Macker noted that many diehards remain unimpressed by Lucas’s second trilogy of “Star Wars” films released between 1999 and 2005.

I yawn at their hipster yawning.

Only the first one was a good one. The rest were all lame. Totally. I won't see this one or any others.

I wonder if they can screw it up even more than Lucas did with the three 'new' movies. I really worry that what we're going to see is a movie centering on Jar Jar Binks' home world and with John Carter popping in as one of the heroes.

If they re-release the original Star Wars trilogy without all the stupid CGI stuff Lucas added in the special editions, I will become a lifelong Disney fan. Until then, I`m unimpressed.

"The new “Star Wars” film due next year will be directed by J.J. Abrams, one of Hollywood’s A-list directors who recently oversaw the successful rebooting of the “Star Trek” franchise."

This is encouraging.

“A lot of fans are still mad at Lucas for what he did in the prequels"

Me included! Those were absurd! Jar Jar Binks my ass!

Meeso LIKEY Jar Jar Binks! Ehh.. not really.

When Lucas was first putting the idea behind Star Wars together, he had 9 story lines in chronological order roughed-out. Looking at the story lines, the 4th was probably the most exciting out of the nine. When he started shopping around for a production company, he only used the 4th in the series to pitch to the production executives. When 20th Century Fox green-lighted the project, the 4th story line became "Star Wars". It wasn't until it became obvious that there would be a sequel that the decision was made to re-title the original movie to "Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope."

Therefore, I'm not surprised the subsequent movies were somewhat lacking in the luster of the original. Lucas himself felt they were less likely to be picked up for production than Episode 4 was. What will be interesting to find out is if Disney kept Lucas' final 3 story lines and is building the movies around them, or have they gone with some of the stories by fans of the genre that pick up after "Return of the Jedi" leaves off.

I like JJ Abrams so I try not to have high expectations and let him surprise me with the upcoming star wars. Since I never watched star trek series and only saw a couple of movies, so I liked what he did with star trek and I hope i would be something similar with star wars..

But I'm afraid that there will be a lot of temptation of introducing the vulcan race in the star wars universe don't you think? JJ is good friends with Leonard Nimoy after all

I've been thinking some more on this. If Disney goes with Lucas' story lines (the rights to which Disney has already purchased), they won't have to pay royalties to another author.
