Monday 27th October, 04:50 AM JST
TOKYO —
Fuji TV announcer Kyoko Sasaki, 35, who is four months pregnant, will marry the 35-year-old father of her child in November. Speaking on her weekday infotainment program “Tokudane,” Sasaki said she will continue to appear on the show for the time being. “I met him in March and we started dating in April,” she said of her fiance without providing further details. “Although the pregnancy should have come after our marriage, I’m nevertheless very happy.”
Sasaki, who divorced TBS news presenter Hiroyuki Ikeda, 46, in 2006, recalled her life after the divorce, saying, “My life has been in darkness. I believed I would be alone forever.”

Nah. For celebs, it's preggo, weddo, then celeb-divo, and I don't mean the band.

She's getting married. That's a good thing, and she seems glad. I've never heard so much negative feeling about someone getting married before. Why not just be happy for her?

Good for her. Nobody knows the facts but her and her husband. I'm old fashioned but if they are happy together then the child on the way is as good a catalyst as any for settling down.

if the parents don't marry, their offspring will be labelled as illegitimate in the national registry. the choices are marriage or abortion. which would you prefer?

Isn't this a common thing here? It always seems people are getting married after their pregnant. Haven't they heard of birth control until they're sure?
tmarie at 11:39 AM JST - 28th October
Single women in their 30's don't use birth control here. How would they catch a husband? This makes me sick. Japan, the land of dekichatta....

me too tmarie..! it seems morality is down the drain in Japan these days...women are more happy being 'announced pregnant' at the wedding ceremonies....they have no shame at all...
tmarie at 02:50 PM JST - 28th October
I don't think it is down the drain - it was never really there!! Which is one reason why I think they force people to marry or abort! No sex before marriage is more a cultural thing - the Japanese have never really followed it. More like pressure from other societies on this - hence the marriage rule!

What a cynical bunch you all are! Good luck to her and her family-to-be and hope they're very happy!

It is sad that still in an "advanced" country as Japan there is chauvinism. Over 28 you HAVE to do anything to get married If she is a divorceè, it is worse that marrying again. Being pregnant it is a "meal ticket" for older women that are rich and sucessful (LOL!)
She was married before, and then divorced, now she found someone and wanted to get married, are you gullible enough to think that a couple that wants to be married would use "protection"? please, they are both 35. Let them be, she is happy. Good for her, and if the marriage doesn't last, she at least would have her child.

She should have a Baby Shower first, followed by the Bridal Shower, then finally, the Wedding.
