He and his wife currently live in a wooden house with a mere 4 1/2-tatami floor space.

That's called a shed in other countries.

In his situation, I'd say milk it for all it's worth. You never know how long Hatoyama will remain in power. When he goes, this tarento will be out of a job.

Crazy "Hatoyama Hair" is the new fashion style for men!

Did Kuruo's wife take a trippy magical space ride too?

  • womanforwomen at 08:46 AM JST - 11th September

I am happy for him. Some perseverence.

“Although I used to be a nobody, I gained attention just because I looked like him."

Veeerrrry accurate description of the situation. But don't worry buddy, you are still a nobody in our eyes.

Just like the guy who makes a living as a Tamori impersonator, and the guy who makes a living as an Antonio Inoki impersonator, and. . . .

Not really any special talent as an impressionist (like, say, Rich Little), just a simple look-a-like-ist.

Basically, whenever I see these guys on a show, it screams "We didn't have enough money or clout to get the real guy, so we got this fake guy."

Like the local shopping mall in Sticksville, Iowa, hiring a Britney Spears look-a-like.

    Weak.

When the show aired, his appearance generated an industry buzz.

    simple things...

Haha, he really looks like Mr. pigeon-on-the-hill in the young.

  • timtak at 10:29 AM JST - 11th September

What's this business about "to come" and "to go"?

Yukio means at least phonetically "going guy" where as "Kuro-o" means "coming guy". In Japanese the comedian's name has no secondary or obscene meaning.

4 1/2-tatami floor space... seriously this should be illegal.

  • Yelnats at 02:10 PM JST - 11th September

I think they made a mistake with the room he lives in. Maybe the average size rooms in the wooden house are 4.5 jo

this person would get the job of dummy PM as a part of the security cover for the real PM of Japan..........

Dear......make the best of your life now..........the luck is rewarding you now........dont settle for anything below the BEST that you wanted in your life.

If I were you .......I would have mentioned my terms as 1000,000 yen as monthly salary ........to start with.......and ofcourse the same to appreciate 25 % annually

who knows you too could live beyond 100 years of age.....

  • cadmium at 04:00 PM JST - 11th September

I can't believe you can have a house that's only 4.5 tatami mats in size, excluding the bathroom and kitchen.

This really shows how little comedians make in this country if they're not famous. It's a tough gig. At least he wears clothes. Some comedians wear very skimpy outfits which must be freezing in winter when they're outside (anyone know Yoshio Kojima?)

  • lostrune2 at 05:01 PM JST - 11th September

Ahhhhhhh, he may look alike, but can he pull it off like Tina Fey?

  • anon99 at 07:12 PM JST - 11th September

Let's see how Tsurumi Ken's comedian career will last with this new Hatoyama stint. Hopefully it will be a little longer...

  • lunchmeat at 07:09 PM JST - 12th September

I wonder how his poll numbers are.
