Hinano Yoshikawa to star in Shiseido commercial

Model Hinano Yoshikawa, 30, is the new image character for Shiseido hair care brand Ma Cherie. Yoshikawa appears in a series of TV ads for the shampoo and conditioner, which Shiseido says make a woman’s hair smoother and silkier.
In the ads, which started airing on Friday, Yoshikawa’s naked body, covered by long flowing hair, sits in front of a pink background. “I hope women will treat themselves to the luxury of Ma Cherie when they are feeling tired,” Yoshikawa said.
Shiseido, which used Yoshikawa once before as an image character, said they chose her again because “she matches the luxury and romantic world view of the new Ma Cherie.”

From one of Horie's girlfriends, to "actress", and now to "model", her career is circling the drain. But at least in this picture she is not carrying around her omnipresent dog; obviously couldn't manage to hold it and the giant shampoo bottle in her two hands.

It strikes me as odd that Shiseido, a quintessential Japanese brand, is using an image model who is trying so hard to look non-Japanese. They would be much better served by using someone more mature who hasn't had her eyes done, who hasn't lightened her hair, and who represents the beauty of Japanese women.
