Hiroyuki Sanada to appear in final season of 'Lost'

TOKYO —

Actor Hiroyuki Sanada, 49, will be appearing in the 6th and final season of the popular American TV series “Lost.” He will play “Dogen,” an important character that holds the key to the story of the final season, producers said, adding that the part has been especially written for Sanada.

The 6th season will air in the U.S. from early 2010 and be shown on pay TV in Japan next summer.

He's a good looking man. I've seen better looking Japanese men but still, very nice. And he's 49!?! Damn, that's a good 49!

And for the guys who have a problem with the ladies gushing over him, get over it, you would be doing the same thing if it was a hot chick, what's sauce for the gander is sauce for the goose!

I never watched Lost, but i might have to check it out now.

Lost got slow, ridiculous, then okay and worth the watch, then all of a sudden got ridiculous again to make me abort watching it. The concept was good but it failed to deliver...jumped the shark if you ask me on many occasions. Maybe the final season will be better. Normally, final seasons are never as good.

In all seriousness, I'm looking forward to his work in Lost. I too saw him in Twilight Samurai and he was a very capable actor in that film. Contrary to some here, I'm still a fan of Lost, even if I don't always like the direction the story goes. Sanada's contribution to the show will be just another plus.

I was a huge fan of Lost, but after the 3rd season I felt they were just cashing in.

he has a little wild look that is so appealing but also an intelligent spark in the eyes. being a recognized actor with talent and impact makes him far more desireble and not the least he speaks perfect English and has good disposition to foreigners.

And behind the smooth 'non-hairy' chest he must be having a wonderful heart that every woman dreams of! Yes, I am sure he has a heart that is faithful and a brain that has the right amount of intelligence and the right amount of humor.

Hey gang, 49 isn't exactly one foot in the grave. Yes, he looks healthy and vibrant, but it's not that much of a stretch to achieve that at 49 in this day and age. On the contrary, I'd be more inclined to think that anyone who didn't look like Sanada at 49 wasn't taking very good care of him or herself, or had a lousy diet. Forty-nine is the new 39, don't'cha know?

Wow, some of you forget, he is a man. It will be a quick stamp for some of you if you are lucky, besides, do you not think he has better prospects than you all fawning over him. lol.

Oh, and I do have to say, the YF in here is quite refreshing.

That aside, he is a very talented actor and can not wait to see him on Lost. Glad this series is coming to a close, hopefully the writers have better ideas for a new show.
