I still my original Mattel model. I doubt if it is worth a couple of mill though.

Seems a lot of money for an old car

Does it come with the soundtrack and funky sound effects?

Oh Yuri, it's not just any old car.... this is an icon.
I grew up in the 70s watching Batman on British TV and I loved that car. When I was a kid I had the Corgi one with the blade in the nose... wonderful stuff.

Dear Santa,
I don't mind if my present arrives late, so…could you bring me the original Batmobile for Xmas? Please?!?

Yuri: Seems a lot of money for an old car
No price is mentioned, but someone would like it to go as high as possible, I guess.

Lowly
Surprised it made it after all those years-including heavy use and multiple takes on a tv show- w/o getting crashed up at all.

Man those were the days! Loved that show as a kid, always cool watching the batmobile zip out of that secret entrance!

@Thunderbird2 I had the same one - classic. I also had action man with the eagle eyes and the tank.

Robin: "Atomic batteries to 'POWER'. Turbines to 'SPEED'..."
Batman: "Ready to move out."

I think Yuri is talking about the Aston Martin.

No way will it fetch that much. I saw it very much up close a few months ago at a special outdoor event at the NYPD police museum in downtown Manhattan. A bit shabby and unimpressive compared to what $100 grand will get you.

You're talking about a one-off "concept car" from the 50's that was modified for the relatively low quality viewing that existed on 60's television... a car that eventually became synonymous with a well-loved super hero TV show that managed to keep its tongue firmly planted in its cheek. The car's value isn't in its construction, but in its position as a cultural icon.

If you can afford it and it is better collecting cars than other "celebrity" artifacts.

oops, I was wrong in my previous post, I was referring to the "Night Riders" car... Got a short video of that one here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayxgqdzJT5c&feature=share&list=UUMm_o7AcwzVZAIwF3CAHxdQ Maybe the dynamic duo's car is better outfitted.

Adam West was the best Batman.

I saw it at Comic Con a few years back...
I have better stuff to spend a million bucks on, but perhaps someone should contact Drew Carey...

That car rules. So does Adam West.
