Chiaki Kuriyama shows her pole-dancer form

Chiaki Kuriyama shows her pole-dancer form

TOKYO —

Actress-singer Chiaki Kuriyama, 27, is showing a new side to herself for her new song. Kuriyama can be seen as a pole dancer on the CD jacket and also adorns the side of a big van that has been driving around Tokyo, promoting her song, “Portrait of moonlight night.”

Appearing at Laqua Garden Stage in Tokyo Dome City, Kuriyama declined to give a pole dancing exhibition for the media. “I might end up showing something which I shouldn’t,” she said.

But she did sing three songs for the 300 fans and media in attendance.

Give me a bus stop, I could show you the same level of pole-dancing skills as she has.

@JapanGal: I'm giving you a thumbs up for injecting some humour onto this website. To the rest of you...laughable how bitter you are!

Ms. Kuriyama is hardly the best target for the standard "'talent' has no talent" comments. She's now in a leading role on a TV show and she's doing a pretty good job of it.

Won't comment on her singing/pole dancing though.

She sure looks good next to that CK.

A story about an actress who pretends to pole dance, and a story about a successful business woman, on the same page. Guess there is no telling what or which is demeaning.

I would never say no to a girl that wants to pole-dance in front of me that looks like that! Even if she were bad, I would still encourage her!

@ Joey - Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't realize. I thought she was hot too, until she spilled that guys guts in the bar scene.

The hypocrisy of L'Aqua in Tokyo Dome. They are happy to invite the promotion of a new single which advertises pole-dancing and the lap dancer/ stripper culture. But if you mention to L'Aqua onsen in Tokyo Dome that you have a small tattoo (as I did) then they will look at you with horror and ask you to leave (as they did with me). So what's it going to be L'Aqua? Embrace the modern world of pole-dancing, or apply conflicting ethics depending on your customers nationality?

Embrace the modern world of pole-dancing

Um, does this mean I have to get a tattoo to watch?

Maybe Japan (and the rest of the world) has yet to catch up with your modernity.

You would like a photo of a short, fat, pole breaker? Some ppl have really strange taste!

Did they kick you out because of your tattoo or your nationality? Sounds like your tattoo, but you're trying to make into some racist thing. If their rule is no tattoos and they won't let you in because you have a tattoo, why not just take your business elsewhere? And what doe it have to do with the pole dancing, anyway?

P.S: Forgot to mention that trying to imitate Calvin Klein's signature even if she has the same initials is pretty "Dasai!!"

Sorry... call me old-fashioned, but while I understand very much the desire to go and view pole-dancing, I've yet to meet a person who wishes to do so because it is an 'art-form'. And if it is in fact modern art, and is above stripping, why did she not give an example to the crowd? Oh yeah... she might have shown something she shouldn't. As for it being an aerobics class or the equally laughable idea, do they offer it to all ages? Seems to me the whole 'pole-dancing as exercise/art' is limited to people in their 20's and 30's (or older but do not look as such). It may be healthy in that it exercises muscles and stretching, but please don't tell me it's an art or anything beyond a step above porn. Where does most poll dancing take place, by the way?

Probably in election booths, but we're not allowed to look inside.

I might end up showing something which I shouldn't,

She might end up trying show something that she doesn't have.

But she did sing three songs for the 300 fans and media in attendance.

Maybe that's what she thought of she shouldn't have done.

    Aren't pole dancers just strippers?

Pole-dance? She is really versatility as her job. She paformed at comedy show on tv last week and she did good job. I'm sure she had some cosmetic surgery on her face but she still beautifull even she didn't have it. Showing pole-dance is makes people her image like a vulgar so absolutely I don't recomend her to do it as her job.
