Two members of popular singing group AKB48, who were attacked during a handshake event with fans in Iwate Prefecture last month, have received a big banner, saying “Please Come to Iwate Again!” from 800 fans.
Rina Kawaei, 19, and Anna Iriyama, 18, were wounded by a man brandishing a handsaw at the event in Takizawa. They were briefly hospitalized and are still recovering from their wounds.
The banner, created by fans in Oshu city, has been put up at the AKB Theater in Tokyo's Akihabara district.
