Japanese band Superfly releases charity song

TOKYO —

Japanese band Superfly on Friday released a song to raise money for Japan’s earthquake relief fund. Shiho Ochi, 27, who records music under the monicker Superfly, said that proceeds from the sale of the new song, titled “You & Me,” will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross.

Ochi said of the song, “It’s just vocals and piano, but I put a lot of feeling into it. I’d like for everyone to put their heart into it and sing along with me.”

“You & Me” is available to buy on Recochoku, wamol and iTunes.

I hope more priceless works come from artists in Japan and overseas these days.

I too had thought she was a solo singer... always enjoy seeing her on 'Music Station'. A talented artist with a dynamic range of expression and a powerful voice!

One of the, if not the, best female vocalists in Japan. A very nice gesture! And yeah, I believe she's a solo performer, not a band.
