If a director from Thailand made a movie of this subject about JAPAN then just watch how fast Japan would have that movie pulled.

But if a Japanese director were to make this king of movie about Japan am sure it would be accepted with no questions...right?

ogie - a very good pointless point :). The main reason it was pulled out was because it was not fitting the the general atmosphere of the festival - just imagine having a horror splatter movie at a "Children's Anime Festival" - now how would this fit in? - the same with this case..

Much ado about nothing... seems the Japanese don't like it when they make movies of other countries misgivings. But I seem to recall not to long ago a documentary about Yasukuni being pulled from the theaters in Japan as it was considered offensive by some. Ahhh... the double standards Japan would have us live by...

Japan would have solved the problem much faster, by arresting the Film Director and destroying the film !

A polite letter from the local LDP/Yak office would suffice: "Dear Sir, Remember Itami Juzo? Your truly, Your Nine-fingered Friends"
