@Tessa, it's not a trend but let me tell you as an old geezer myself, people die, fact of life. And the pendulum has swung around now in pop culture life where there are hundreds of bands and singers and producers and film stars and directors now in their 70s and 80s and they are all going be popping off now. Bowie, Kantner, robin williams, glen Frey...these so called icons were famous for their work as people on their 20s and 30s and there are so many of them due to the star making machines of the 1960s and 70s and 80s so of course as a matter of fate and organ failure, the headlines are going to be full of these ''guess who died today!" Media headlines and tomorrow it will be bob dylan and Mick Jagger and marianne faithful and mary of peter paul and mary. To be born is natural, to die in yr 70s and 80s is natural too. Or 94 like abe vigoda last week. Soon Elton john and randy Newman and grace slick. Welcome to the death throes of 1960s and 1970s pop culture. Its gonna happen every day now. People die. Even the gods and goddesses of pop life. Embrace it. Death is part of life too. Nothing unusual going on. Just that pop culture gave birth to hundreds, thousands of big names. Enjoy the obits. More to come.

Many of these icons lived a lifestyle predicated on living forever. Unfortunately that just isn't true.

He laid down some some heavy riffs and as a kid i learned a lot of rock funamentals White Rabbit is as true today as when first played many moons ago The body may go but the soul remains, in the music,always-R.I.P.,P.K.

Considering the lifestyles of many of the musicians from the 60s and 70s, I find it surprising that some of them actually make it into their old age.

You said it!
