It was horrible to be honest, and I like Katy Perry. It was filled with "what the..." moments that'll turn into hilarious memes. All absurd style with no substance.

I'd prefer honestly someone who can just belt out a tune without a backing track. The sharks, the tiger, glowing balls, keep it and give me powerful vocals, that'll connect you to the audience better than odd set pieces.

Keep the focus on the music and the message, not the shiny objects.

OMG, I'm SOooo glad I DIDN'T see it.

For what it was, it was better than normal.

I only recognized one line from one song, clearly not a fan. Her voice is fine, not great. I found the show entertaining for the most part. I loved that they had fireworks outside the park, surrounding it, timed with the music.

There was a section with rap that we skipped over. Didn't know the singer or the music and the show at that point didn't hold interest.

Found the star riding to be entertaining too.

Guess I'm easily amused, but so are most Americans. Thumbs up overall.

Katy dazzled with her two big hits

It wasn't that impressive a show. Too disjointed - was it her show, or Missy Elliot's, or Lenny Kravitz's? Different sounds, different motifs (lion, beach, leather), nothing too involving. The lion and the shooting star were cute, I guess.

Apparently someone is having trouble with the concept of a halftime SHOW. The music is only one part of the SHOW. This is the way it has been since even BEFORE Janet Jackson gave us a "show" of a different kind.

Check your math, JT.

Why? They didn't write it - the Agence France Presse did and if I were to guess, I'd think they meant to say about 1/3 of all American homes.

Didn't sing- She was clearly lip-synching to recorded music. So where is the "performance"? I don't see how anyone outside of 15 year-old girls could be entertained by that crapola

What an unbelievable commentary....

The one thing that was worth seeing, was the video choreography for the second song. The rest was embarrassing full plastic, for full plastic people.

Maybe at the end of the game the Seahawks offensive co-ordinator thought that "If stuff like that sells, lets try something of the same quality, when we get to one yard line..."

Katy Perry Definitely did not dazzle! Her performance was sub par at best. On the other hand Missy Elliot blew everyone away with her simple and cool dancing. One could clearly see and feel the difference between real vs manufactured talent.

Shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone, the global viewers for the Super Bowl were around 550 million. Not bad. Manchester City v Chelsea on their regular fixture last Saturday got about 650 million.

The Neilsen TV ratings breakdown is in:

Most adults think Katy Perry's halftime show was good not great. Yet, the TV ratings went up for the halftime show. The reason? The younger non-adults enjoyed her show the most. It was like a whole concert choreography condensed in 15 minutes - a marvel feat to set up on the playing field.

Not surprising because as popular as the NFL is in the United States, soccer is just as popular in the REST of the world. I think a single country's sport losing out to the rest of the world's sport in TV viewers by only a 5:6 margin is pretty darn respectable.
