Keanu Reeves seen location scouting in Tokyo

Actor Keanu Reeves was seen in Tokyo last week, location scouting and posing with fans in Akihabara, Asakusa, Shinjuku and near the Imperial Palace.

When you combine international film stardom with the huge amounts of pedestrian traffic in Tokyo, it’s no surprise that crowds have been gathering around Reeves during his walks through the city. He seems to be incredibly generous with his time, though, happily appearing in snapshots with starstruck Tokyoites in locales as varied as the entrance to the Imperial Palace and an izakaya restaurant.

His willingness to accommodate his fans is all the more impressive considering that his visit to Japan doesn’t seem to be a pleasure trip, but rather part of location scouting for his upcoming "Rain" TV miniseries, which is set, at least partially, in Japan.

Aside from the electronics and anime mecca of Akihabara, Reeves has been spotted in the historical Asakusa neighborhood, specifically in one of its entertainment sections called Rokku Hanamichi, and also in Shinjuku.

Word is that Reeves is a huge ramen fan who always makes time for a bowl of noodles while he’s in Japan. A culinary man of the people, rumor has it that he’s particular about sitting at the counter with his fellow diners instead of getting the move star treatment with a table all to himself, and also that he has a fondness for the food at the chain Ramen Jiro.

Reeves is said to have a particular liking for Ramen Jiro’s extra-filling "yasai mashi mashi abura" which comes with a heaping helping of vegetables and pork fat.

This guy is such a class act. I hope his filming in Japan is a success.

Also, throwing in a plug for John Wick. It's easily one of the best action movies of the last 20 years or so.

don't care too much for his movies but a class act nonetheless.

He's got some nerve showing his face after the travesty called "47 Ronin" he starred in. (To be fair, there were others who should also be tarred and feathered)

He seems like a nice guy, but let's face it, his acting is wooden.

Keanu wants Japanese scenes for his upcoming project ... he should talk to local gaijin ... bet they/we know plenty of great action-packed places to film ... and away from the stuff we see everyday in foreign PR films on Japan. You know ... the real Japan ... the place we gaijin live in ...

He probably looks grim because he said himself he prefers Osaka so he must be miserable. I understand his feeling.

He's probably a cool dude, but he is definitely one of the worst actors out there

just a bit of trivia, Reeves is actually the highest paid actor of all time, with the Matrix trilogy only he made well over $260million, $15million per movie and 10% of all receipts. hes also one of the most chartiable actors giving away over $35million in one donation along!

Wow what a minusfest, some die-hard keanu fans on here I think. Its funny to see more and more celebrities take the chance to head out in TOkyo without any bodyguards (aerosmith (granted that was osaka), tom cruise, hugh jackman) shows how safe japan is even for celebs.

My fav Keanu movie was definitely Point Break. Which had the added bonus of Gary Busey being in it.

I got bored with him when he stopped making Bill & Ted movies.
