TOKYO —

Actress Yoshino Kimura, 32, and actor Yusuke Isetani, 31, who are rumored to be dating, will take part in the Cannes Film Festival in France this month, the film production agency said Thursday. Their film “Blindness,” which is a joint production by Canada, Brazil and Japan, will be entered in the competition category of the festival. 

Kimura said, “It’s a great honor to be involved in this brilliant film. I’m very happy that it has been entered at Cannes.” Isetani, who will be visiting the festival for the second time, adds, “I hope many people will love the film as much as I do.”

The film is base don the novel by Nobel prize-winning Portuguese author José Saramago. It portrays a mysterious epidemic of blindness that strikes a city and breakdown in social order that follows. The film will be released in November in Japan.
