Kiwifruit spokesperson Satomi Ishihara has romantic vision of cooking

TOKYO —

Actresses Satomi Ishihara, 25, and Chiharu Niiyama, 31, attended an event this week to promote kiwifruit.

Ishihara is the 2012 Zespri kiwifruit image character, following in the footsteps of past image characters Norika Fujiwara, Moe Oshikiri, Suzanne and Papaya Suzuki. During the summer, she has been appearing in TV commercials, on posters and attending events, extolling the health benefits of kiwifruit.

Wednesday’s event was held by the Kiwifruit Group. Ishihara, who told reporters that she recently started cooking and said pot-au-feu is her specialty. “I have a romantic vision of cooking. It’s a good way to build a relationship,” she said.

“In a TV series, I once played a girl whose specialty was cooking, but I never had any opportunity to do actual cooking,” she said. “Now I’m getting good reviews from my family and friends.”

I wonder how many people here also eat the skin on kiwi? So many people don't and thats a great shame because it tastes really good.

It's a special way of building a relationship if you do it together, for sure, or if you take turns even. Regardless, if you want to cook, head to the kitchen and go at it. I find it hard to believe so many people have no cooking skills through never trying it, and CERTAINLY cannot understand young adults and the many, many men who expect to be served three squares but couldn't fry an egg to save themselves.

Wow she is a looker. While I do enjoy kiwifruit, I can't eat too much because the citric acid and too much vitamin-C always gives me cracked lips.
