KONISHIKI succeeds in losing 70 kg after stomach operation

Ex-sumo wrestler KONISHIKI, 44, has succeeded in losing about 70 kg in the past three months after an operation to reduce the size of his stomach. A spokesman for KONISHIKI said he is currently about 230 kg.

He has been based in Hawaii since he retired from sumo. His agent says he’s planning to return to Japan again in the near future.

I'd really hate to see him die from health reasons, seems like a very nice guy. Hopefully he'll be able to lose quite a few more kilos yet.

Grouchy - Get serious! I just checked out a May 22, 2008 video interview with Musashimaru - he's maybe half the size of Konishiki.
