Kumi Koda and misono put on live show outside Shinjuku station

TOKYO —

Singers Kumi Koda, 26, and misono, 24, put on an unannounced show on Tuesday outside the east exit of Shinjuku station, singing their new song and first collaboration “It’s all Love!”

About 5,000 people flocked to Shinjuku Station Square to hear the pair sing the new track, which went on sale the same day. The song is about misono’s heartbreak and Kumi consoling her. Misono, who is Koda’s sister, said: “It’s a true story. The lyrics include what I said to Kumi just after the break-up. Men tell lies. I hate that.”

Kumi can sing and has the looks! Why does Japan keep praying on the little sister's of artist! They become the gimmick and a joke! Misono is not beautiful at all like Kumi! They both have ridiculous BOD's which great DNA but I hate the fact that her sister has to play this dumb comic role to try and make a name for herself and it won't happen. With this country so much into trends, I will give her another 6 month's before they are tired of her! I just like Kumi because she is down to earth and treats everyone with respect no matter who you are! Nice to talk to also!

lol. I was wondering who was going to say something.

Down to earth? Treats people with respect? Can sing? Beautiful? About the only thing I can agree with is the "BOD's" comment.

Kumi Koda and other dumb plastic J-Pop "idols", who's only reason for success is that they are marketed on an image to sell cell phones, internet plans, sweets and "fruits" (gay boys! you all know who I'm talking about) are the scourge of the Japanese music scene. I have never seen adverting and record companies as cozy with each other until I came to Japan (not saying it doesn't happen in other countries, but not to this extent.)

You can like Koda Kumi if you like, but all she's good for is selling you Softbanks latest mobile or a bottle of Pepsi.

You can say that's what Japanese people like but that's BS. Japanese people like what they're told to and the big boys control all the radio and TV stations. The sooner they f*&k off, opps, go away, the sooner actual Japanese bands and singer-songwriters will get the recognition they deserve (and there are some genuinely good J-bands and singers around).

scourge of the Japanese music scene

    That is awesome.

it's a small photo granted but in this one Koda looks just like the decrepit mutton dressed as lamb old bid sitting in my local Shichirin nursing a bottle of Jinro and packet of tabs. maybe it's the lack of pixels, but prolly not.

    Misono, who is Koda’s sister

    Her lowercase sister, apparently.

  • magpie at 09:59 AM JST - 2nd April

Is it just me but Koda Kumi looks fat and chunky in this photo.

  • IchyaWarFare at 10:08 AM JST - 2nd April

I think they both have put on some weight. Which is not a bad thing, per say. Tired of misono on whatever variety program that my wife happens to be watching. Tired of the "appeal" of being ignorant and rich in Japan. Creating too many wacked out little kids.

    "Men tell lies"

    Not all men.

  • norinrad21 at 03:49 PM JST - 4th April

    Awesome replies LOL

  • jonnyboy at 09:21 PM JST - 5th April

treats everyone with respect no matter who you are

Koda slaps up well for the videos but is clearly nothing much to look at without the make-up + lights + camera work
