Kyoka Suzuki's ideal son - Tom Cruise

Kyoka Suzuki's ideal son - Tom Cruise

TOKYO —

Actress Kyoka Suzuki thinks Tom Cruise would make an ideal son. Cruise, who is six years older than Suzuki, 43, got the nod at an event to promote NTV’s new TV drama, “Ideal Son,” which starts airing on Saturday from 9 p.m.

Suzuki co-stars with Ryosuke Yamada, 18, from the boy band Hey! Say! JUMP. Suzuki plays a single mother who has raised her son (Yamada) to be obedient and always trying to please her. But whenever a man tries to approach his mother, the son always drives him away.

Yamada said his idea of an ideal son would be a big eater. Suzuki said she picked Cruise because he is faithful, healthy and like a breath of fresh air. “Tom’s mother must be so happy to have him,” she told reporters.

Don't we all dream that our offspring will become couch-jumping Scientologists?

Oh check this out. Mainstream media pushing a drama on how cool it is to be a "Single Mother". To make matters worse they portray the son as driving other men away. This is just another show promoting women to try to shape men into what they want them to be and not an identity of their own.

Cruise faithful? REALLY? Since when and to whom? Let's count how many wives he's had shall we? 1. Mimi Rogers ('87-'90) 2. Nicole Kidman ('90-'01) 3. Katie Holmes ('04-present). Of course let's not forget the little fling with Penelope Cruze after/during his marriage with Kidman. Hardley faithful is he? Obviously she's confusing Cruise's with his movie characters.

I think Nicole only became famous for marrying him and the large settlement she received after the divorce..

    Mirai Hayashi,

I don't see the need to bring facts into the issue and spoil the image of Tom Cruise that Ms Suzuki has. Mr Cruise has a PR team that works very hard to shape his image, and it isn't really fair to cite facts demonstrating the contrary.

Why not? It's the truth. So you think we should just accept all the PR crap we're fed, because people have worked hard to create this false image?

From reading other things j4p4nftw has said , I would only wish his posts were sarcastic.

Sounds like a rather boring show. Is it a short?

Is she familiar with his religious beliefs?

Obviously she really doesn't know a thing about Cruise if she thinks he is the ideal son. I'm not saying he's a bad guy, but does she know anything about his Scientology beliefs and through them his image of an 'ideal woman'? Lest we forget Cruise got into a LOT of hot water after an interview in which bashed women, and of course psychiatry. It sounds more like she knows nothing about him at all.

As for the show itself, it sounds like a pretty stupid premise for a program. I guess we'll see -- errr... those who bother to watch it will, that is.

Who is 'we' ? People who sit in front of the TV for hours on end with their mouths agape? What was there to forget? He got in a LOT of hot water? Yeah, and then his career tanked ? He 'bashed' women? He bashed 'psychiatry' ? Ooooh noes.

Hardly. Kidman has always been more respected as an actor than Cruise and had a well established career before they married.

He wasn't being sarcastic, Mirai. Read his other posts. He's a deeply nationalistic Japanese. You interfered with the tatemae by bringing up the honne.
