Kyoko Fukada to play English teacher in new drama

Actress Kyoko Fukada, 25, will play the role of an English teacher in NTV’s new TV drama “We can’t teach this at school!” Fukada’s character interacts with a few schoolboys who attend a girls’ high school and dispenses advice on adolescent problems.

Fukada said, “I was very surprised when I read the script because we have a lot of sexually radical scenes in the drama. The drama is also about human relationships, so I hope parents and teachers will enjoy it.”

The drama starts Tuesday at 10 p.m. on the NTV network.

A teacher character with "Sexually radical scenes" in a High School Drama??? Could this be a set up for problems later on down the road????

Ok, let me guess how the plot might go.

The school hires a young foreigner ALT (male or female) who starts going out with the students. Someone gets pregnant or gets STD's. thus the teacher has to give advice about what to do.

Although Fukada says its about human relationships, NHK will likely point out that if the foreign ALT hadn't arrived and started dating the students, everything would have been fine.

I'm of course being VERY sarcastic. the article doesn't say anything about foreigners, but I think any English High school drama is likely to involve an ALT having some problem with a student because it happens so often (not to everyone, but it does happen). And NHK, being the mouthpiece of the LDP can use this drama to bring negative press to the JET (and other ALT) program(s).

I love Kyoko Fukada and I've just realised that it is her that is the bouncy girl in white in that beer commercial. Everyone is having such a good time in that CM. I think her shorter hair confused my little brain a bit. That and I haven't seen much of her lately, and have felt lonely.

So she's an English teacher this time around? I doubt they'll have an ALT in there, but if there is he should go for her. I don't mind sharing.

10pm gotta watch this one. Kyoko Fukada aside it might be a complete piece of crap though.

Yeah I don't think I need to worry too much about watching this one again. Kyoko's fruitcake role is a bit annoying, and the whole thing lacks substance (shouldn't be too disappointed there I guess). And if you're looking for 'sexually radical' or anything like that, it'd be better to go back to to the convenience store and stand and peruse the local rags for the hour that this piece of crap is on.

The beginning and the ending of the Japanese title appears to be behind the actress. Looks like "Gakko ji ...... re nai." (oshierarenai?) hmmm....help!
