Leah Dizon announces birth of daughter

American singer Leah Dizon, 22, on Friday updated her blog for the first time since giving birth to her first child, a healthy baby girl, on April 24. The birth was three days past the due date, but the singer said she found strength in the support of her many fans.

She posted on her blog, mixing Japanese and English, “I got lots of mail saying ‘Congrats!’ and ‘We’re cheering for you!’ and was ‘totemo’ happy!”

I'll give her some credit. She was a no-name car model from Las Vegas who ventured to Japan and has done rather well herself on looks alone. We can joke, but she's had her 15 minutes of fame and took it to the Bank. So, yeah, congrats!

if i were her i would've wanted to cash in on the fame for a few more years before motherhood. 22 is pretty young to have a baby these days, imo

Good question. Apart from modeling, she's published her own photobooks and a CD...which was sub-par, but still I'm sure a record deal with any 'name' recognition will come with a large sum up-front. I think she's doing just fine...!
