I think that even the papers can see the irony that these "anti-Chinese" uyoku are actually turning Japan into another China with their intimidation of this movie. Good to see the media is calling them the losers that they are.
I added a post in the old thread about this and thought it would be appropriate to add it here, too. All the controversy certainly makes me more interested in seeing what this movie is all about.
The documentary was initially supposed to be shown in 18 theaters in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Hiroshima and Kyoto. In today's news it was announced that a theater in Osaka has decided to show the movie in May as scheduled. The remaining 12 theaters are considering showing the movie at later dates.
Here is today's article from which I got the above information for those interested in reading further.

Most of the comments on the Yahoo news articles say the same thing.
I think the black vanners shot themselves in the foot with this one - public backlash and free publicity for the film.

Even the big cheese Fukuda is in on it now, expressing regret over the actions of a certain small segment of the population.
Indeed. Hopefully they'll finish the job with one in their heads.

The Osaka theatre is going to be bombarded with threats now...
Not surprised about Fukuda, he was opposed to Koizumi visiting Yasukuni back in the day.

I wonder how this thing would have gone down if Abe was still Prime Minister?
