Maki Horikita to play doctor in postwar drama

Actress Maki Horikita, 22, will play a doctor an NHK drama to air next year. The drama, which starts next April 2, is titled “Ume-chan sensei,” and is based on a screenplay by Masaya Ozaki.
Horikita plays the title character, Dr Ume, who becomes a doctor in Kamata, Tokyo after World War II. Horikita said the theme is one of recovery, and added that it is also relevant to Japan today, which is trying to recover from the devastation of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

Ume-"chan" -sensei, well at least the writers are taking things seriously, I suppose the first episode will be about her doing the first ever brain transplant in Japan, too bad it won't be her own.

You sound like either you own a private hospital that has several young doctors of both genders, OR that you are a terribly sicky person having to consult several doctors already OR you are a hypochondriac ?
Hope to hear that you own a private hospital ...... it gives a better ring.... don't you think so?

But for a specific generation and entertainment products like movies, an image of young doctors look fit and convincing to Japanese audiences. Hopes and optimism are in young generation. Miss Horita, please make it as sincere as you possibly can, disregard the "Engi" (performing techniques) the director will surely enforce upon you. Watch "Yearling", imagine you're the Mama, don't feign kawaii, because if you do I will get sick.
