Married life for Ebi-chan is 'sweet'

TOKYO —

Model Yuri Ebihara, 30, preached her love of brand bags and the sweeter things in life Tuesday at an opening ceremony for the new Samantha Thavasa Sweets & Travel store located in Haneda airport.

Dressed in the shop’s cabin attendant-like uniform, Ebi-chan, as she is popularly known, said of married life with her new hubby, Rip Slyme’s Ilmari, 35, that “It’s pretty sweet, though not in the way these desserts are.”

The pair, who married in Paris on June 16, reportedly plan to hold a wedding reception in Tokyo at the end of August for friends and business associates.

So, at what point will the J-media stop referring to Ebihara as a "chan"? She's 30 and now married. She's getting a little long in the tooth to carry that moniker.

Not until her first meth bust.

I hope her marriage will last and she can be a happy person because it seems like a lot of marriages here in Japan doesn`t last as a happy marriage forever. It seems to somehow always go wrong in many ways.

She will always be a -chan! love the outfit (J-penchant for uniforms and outfits always endearing). And good luck with the Slyme-ball. hope she isn't a secret drug user - would ruin the fairytale.

Why is Japan so afraid of mature women? I'll never understand the need to constantly infantilize grown adults.

True enough but does she realise what an airhead she comes across as?? For the life of me I don't get the appeal of her. Average face, body and brains.

Brand bags and sweet things - like her marriage - quite possibly the most sickly-sweet staged soundbite (given the circumstances) she could ever have come up with - although she almost certainly didn`t all by herself.

I think shes a pretty girl, but pretty damned vacuous as well. But then, I have a grudge against her - a few years ago I used to have to waddle past her smiling face every morning promoting the ebi-burger at McDs on my way to work at 6,7,8,9 months pregnant. Never have I wanted to whip out a black market and draw a moustache so badly!

I cant believe Im even commenting on this....!
