Meisa Kuroki, Masaki Aiba among 'Best Jeanist' winners

TOKYO —

Actress Meisa Kuroki, 23, and Masaki Aiba, 28, of popular idol group Arashi are among the winners of the “Best Jeanist Awards 2011.”

The annual awards are given to Japanese celebrities who look good in jeans. This year, the public were able to cast their votes online.

Kuroki said at the awards ceremony: “I wear jeans everyday both for work and play, so I’m honored to be chosen.”

Other winners this year were actress Miki Maya, 47, “talent” Chinatsu Wakatsuki, 27, former WBA Super Flyweight boxing champion Katsuya Onizuka, 41, and Internazionale Milano soccer player Yuto Nagatomo, 25, who received a special global award.

Oh no! It's that time of the year again when we have to suffer through these ridiculous award ceremonies again...

Get ready for "Best Furist 2011" and/or "Best Leatherist 2011" in the near future....

Too bad the jeans on her look like tent fabric draped over thin sticks.

she's another japanese perfection, and pictures of such beauties are welcome no matter what. i simply filter out all the rest of the crap: i ain't ever gonna buy the stuff they advertise. the comments are a zillion times more entertaining than the junk story

I want to see the picture of her looking "good on jeans". In this picture she seems to be in them, rather than on them.

She knows how to sell Uniqlo jeans. Legs that don't quit.

How about best 'Thongist' or 'T-backist' award? Or best 'Commandoist' now they would be worth looking at.

useless photo here JT. a picture for an award for jeans has got to involve some part of the backside. what use is looking at the front view of a pair of jeans. did you not manage to get a photo of her looking backwards? guess not. i could take better pix with my old TUKA phone than this one.

Best Jeanist'????? Couldn't they find out for god sake something new or better, it's been going on for 6 hundred years or so.

She looks pretty on that picture, though. Probably she has lost self-control for a second and behaved in a natural, direct, friendly way. I took the trouble to look up her other pictures on the net and all I can say I am genuinely surprised how much better she and many of the Japanese "talents and celebrities" look when they stop posing and making stupid faces and start to behave in a natural way.

Sadly, the basic requirement for Japanese women, model, talent etc. to have a stupid face with crazy, obsessive look in the eyes. As Japanese hold it "baka is kawai" the supid is sweet.

The photographer could have find some better , less interfering background.
