TOKYO —
Singer Miki Fujimoto, 24, and celebrity Mai Satoda, 25, took part in a futsal competition held at Ozaki Stadium in Shinagawa Ward this week, as part of the PR campaign by McDonald’s Japan and Coca-Cola for their “Perfect Partner Coke glass campaign,” which begins on Thursday.
The girls joined a team which included former J-league soccer players Hiroshi Nanami, 36, and Takafumi Ogura, 35, but they lost 3-2 to a team of elementary school soccer players.
It was the first time for Fujimoto to appear in public since the announcement of her engagement to comedian Tomoharu Shoji, 33, of comedy duo Shinagawa Shoji.
When asked after the match if she, too, had found the perfect partner, she said: “I’m just happy I met him.” She confirmed they will be getting married in Hawaii in July.

I'm just happy I met him sounds like: he's okay, has enough money and will not force me to sleep with him too often...

Ironicly, Mai has had more singles out in the last couple of years than Miki. They're both former Hello! Project idols now in the M-Line UPFront group so maybe idol would be a better word to describe both of them. Well can't complain, at least you didn't call her Maki Fujimoto in this article.
As Miki gave up the MM leadership for Tomoharu Shoji (although she wasn't going to stay around much longer with Yossie gone) back in 2007, it's nice to see that it wasn't a throw away romance like Yaguchi.

Thank you JT for not putting singer in quotes. Your "writer" should be commended.

I think "shoot on sight" would be a fair strategy for the opposition. Got to make sure it's tight at the back, too.

McDonalds: "I'm rubbing it" (as the commercials seem to say on TV)

"Futsal"? Don't the JT guidelines specify English, Moddie?
Moderator: Futsal is acceptable English, but if you don't know the word, it means indoor soccer.

Futsal= futebol de salao (Portuguese), according to my students.
As you see, the world speaks more than one language, English.
