Miley Ray Cyrus’ cute range goes on sale in Japan

TOKYO —
Up-and-coming actress and singer Miley Ray Cyrus turned 17 on Monday and it was celebrated in Japan with the launch of her cute clothing range “Miley & Max Azria” in Shibuya.
Billed as the next Britney Spears, Cyrus was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and was originally named Destiny Hope by her parents – her father being country music legend Billy Ray Cyrus, 48. She has enjoyed ongoing success in Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” and last year she was named in Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World.
Her cute clothing range – a collaboration with fashion designer Max Azria, 60, and sold exclusively at Walmart stores in the U.S. – will sell in Japan at a new store called PGS TEEN, located in PARCO in Shibuya. The range includes tops, pants, graphic T-shirts and shoes, and one critic described it as “completely inoffensive but totally snoozeworthy.”
Cyrus’ album “The Time of Our Lives” – which was released in the U.S. in August to promote the clothing range – will go on sale in Japan on Jan 13, when Cyrus is scheduled to visit Japan.

growing up nicely! Too bad she wasn't a 17 year old Japanese girl!!! That would be perfect!

She can talk and sing pretty good for a kid her age. She started when she was 14 and has only been doing it a few years, give her a break! I don't consider myself a fan but from what little I've seen I'd say she has a lot more talent than your average Japanese idol.

I hope she does her 'slitty eyes' act again when she comes to Japan. It'll go down a treat.

Before we die, we will see her children, Brad Pitt's kids, Britney's kids, and all the others take the stage and flop and flaunt around. And then their kids. All the dysfunction and all the press coverage. Disney, Britney, Oprah, Rowling, ad nauseum.
I think I will cut my losses and start ignoring them now. I will have to start ignoring them all sooner or later, right?

@Pukey2- Oh, that's right! I almost forgot about that picture. Didn't she also say something racist too? Huh..wonder if she knows there are Asian people in Japan? Could be an awkward moment.

Great, as if Japan isn't already drowning in cute. Kawaii is killing Japanese culture and replacing it with chirping high pitched cuteness that is very likely the reason so many people are going in front of trains these days.

Mocking daddy Cyrus, bobbafett? I loved it!
Miley can't sing, can't act, and is still a marketing success. Ah, the power of Disney...

No thank you. Japan has its own problems and does not need anything from outside :)

The next Britney Spears, huh? Does that include the K-Fed period and the whacked out on drugs period too? If so I'll be watching, if only to see another human train wreck!
