Mimura makes film comeback after marriage

Actress Mimura, 24, will make her screen comeback after her marriage to orchestra conductor Seikyo Kim, 38, two years ago, Sankei Sports reports. Mimura, who will appear in the new film “Rakugo musume,” which opens Aug 23, said, “In my family, we tell each other everything about our days. But when I came to Tokyo by myself to become an actress, I didn’t have anyone to talk everyday. Being married has brought that stability back into my life.

In the film, Mimura plays a woman who tries her hand at the traditional male world of comedy story telling.

The reason why Japanese people view marriage differently from Westerners is that once married, a Japanese man expects his spouse to become a housewife, no job, no nothing - a role even an actress like Mimura is not used to - cooking and cleaning? Really!? I bet her mother did all of that (or else she would be considered a bad wife).
