Mona Nakanishi shows up at Ralph Lauren event

TOKYO —
Mona Nakanishi (formerly Yamamoto), who retired from show business in June, made her first public appearance since then at a recent event to mark the 5th anniversary of fashion brand Ralph Lauren’s store in Omotesando.
Nakanishi, 35, who is daughter to a Norwegian father and a Japanese mother, said she is enjoying the challenge of being a housewife. She married her husband, the president of a real estate investment company, in 2010.
Reporters asked her if the couple are planning to have children. “I’m working on it,” she replied.
Nakanishi, formerly an employee of Asahi Broadcasting Corp, has taken breaks from show business before. In September 2006, she was accused of having an affair with married DPJ politician Goshi Hosono and was forced to step down from her position on TBS’s “NEWS23” program, a job which she had only held for five days.
She was fired again in 2008 from her position as an anchor for Fuji TV after news broke of her affair with Yomiuri Giants player Tomohiro Nioka, who was married at the time. The alleged tryst took place on the eve of her comeback from the first scandal.

last job on earth i would want is to be a "housewife" ("houseman" in my case): if you're poor you work to death all day, if you're rich you bore yourself to death. but no doubt, she's a beautiful "housewife"

Housewife is a very challenging role, and i am pleased to see this woman realises it. I hope she can be faithfull to her husband or she find herself single again soon. Unlike most photos we see on JT this woman is dressed well and decently.

It"S ME
Takahiro.
Housewife/Houseman don't have to mean poor. My wife wanted to work, yet I made more than enough money for us(hint I paid way more in monthly taxes than she earned gross) so no need for her to work but she enjoyed her work and wanted to continue. No problem as we as a couple and parents can make things work and her income could have supportted us as well.
On average the smaller earner decides to stay home(man or woman) just common sense, never felt for the guys that felt they need to be the bread-winner and it is their way or the highway.

I always sympathised with Mona Yamamoto. She was sacked by TBS and Fuji TV, despite the story being her own private business as an adult, yet neither of those two men who had affairs with her were sacked from their jobs. I also heard that Nioka got drunk with her and headed to a love hotel, yet she lost her job and he didn't?

I just don't understand WHY her parentage is included AND her alleged personal transgressions/background. What has either got to do with her participation in this pubic relations event? What she does in her professional life may be newsworthy, but as for her personal life, that's all in the past and it's just trash talk to bring it up now. Please keep it relevant and on point, JT. Thanks.

So much for "retiring".
Challenge of being a housewife? Oh dear, what will she do if she ever has kids if sitting home with nothing to do and no one to look after during the day is a challenge??
Tigers, she was a public figure who made her money by selling her image. The guys she messed around with had other jobs - such as playing baseball which isn't image selling. I don't think it is fair she took ALL of the heat but she obviously wasn't smart enough to learn the first time she got in trouble for sleeping with another woman's husband...

She used to put out pretty easily, didn't she ? Must be hoping that "settling down" will curb it.

Shes obviously not adapting to the "challenge" of being a housewife as well as she claims she is if she is getting her face out there on the celeb circuit once more. Which is it Mona? Do you want to retire or dont you?

Lol.. the headline is hilarious. Mona "shows up" at a Lauren event, like no one was expecting her or she just appeared out of a puff of smoke.
In other news, the Kano Sisters are still around too, somewhere
