Mona Yamamoto
Monday 29th December, 04:46 AM JST
TOKYO —
Mona Yamamoto, 32, who has been out of the public eye since she made the headlines with her visit to a love hotel in July with married Yomiuri Giants player Tomohiro Nioka, has announced her intention to return to the entertainment world.
Her agency, Office Kitano, sent a fax to major media outlets announcing that the ban on Yamamoto’s public appearances will expire on Dec 31. The fax also contained a hand-written message from Yamamoto.
The office said in the fax: “Miss Yamamoto deeply regrets her thoughtless actions earlier this year, and firmly pledges not to be involved in such behavior in the future.” It did not go into any details about what work Yamamoto will be involved in next year.
The hand-written message from Yamamoto contained an apology for the impact her behavior had on viewers and all those affiliated with the news program she was co-hosting at the time, and that she had spent the last six months in reflection. She also pledged to carry herself in a more disciplined way and not to repeat the mistakes of her past.
Yamamoto was made to step down from TBS program “NEWS23” after her relationship with married DPJ politician Goshi Hosono was exposed in September 2006. When she was caught with Nioka at a love hotel in July this year - the same night of her comeback appearance on the premiere of Fuji TV’s “Sakiyomi” program - Office Kitano decided to remove Yamamoto from all media commitments indefinitely.
Yamamoto has reportedly been using her time since then attending a university in Tokyo to get her MBA.

"I have to wonder how a beautiful sexy clever girl like her has to hit on married men.Is it some kind of game for her? How many married men do you think she has done?".
If you had read some of the articles about those incidents you would have seen she was the one who was hit on, by those married guys. Unfortunately, she decided to accept their ... "invitations". She was wrong in accepting them, that much is clear.
If I recall correctly there was a story about affairs in Japan I read in the Japan Times a while back and it said that 80% of married people in Japan have affairs. So I think it is hardly fair to blame, "...J woman with colourful background ..hmm.. normal story" who, "... has to hit on married men". In this case I think you guys are making comments without even having the slightest clue about this story. I think you should be looking at her male partners background history as well.

Maybe her Eurasian look has increased the chances of the said infidelity... who knows?

Yawn, another celeb sleeping with a married man, go figure. Any way, why do people suggest he played her, she very well could have been playing him. And does it matter who was playing who? Married people cheat, people like to have "relations", life is like that in an adult world.

"Nioka is a real swinger"
Heh. I betcha his wife was not pleased. Are they still married?
presto345 at 06:37 PM JST - 29th December
My logic tells me it's the married ones that do the cheating. They are the ones who haven taken vows and so in this case not Yamamoto. Hope to see here soon again :-)

according to Wiki they met in a Gay bar. Was Nioka looking to bat for the other team before Yamamoto made the save? Hey, I am just pitching some ideas. Not crying foul or anything.

Hey..it takes two to tango. She lures them and they welcomed her with opened arms...Men are Men....and only silly, immoral, colourful background woman like Mona would fall into the traps.....:)

Oh yeah, smart beautiful women are always at fault because ...? Heck if I know.
My question is why so many posters seem to think that women must appear to be chaste? This is basically her private business and frankly the media should pay her royalties from the profits they have made from her personal life.

Mona is smart AND beautiful, she should be able to go to a love hotel anywhere anytime with anyone she wants. No one says anything about the men who were breaking their marriage vows? Oh that's right, men can't help it. When they get hard they just have to have sex or they will die. Give me a break, Mona gets all the bad press and the men get off scot-free, typical Japan.

Ok, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around WHY this is news and WHO really gives a flying donut about the affairs of others, commentators or not.
Some like 'em big, some like 'em tall/short/heavy/hung/racked/etc.. She like's em married. Who cares?
If it's THAT big a social taboo, let the damn guy control himself. HE's the one in a commitment, not her.
