Nagasawa, Shaku among winners for their beautiful legs

Actress Masami Nagasawa, 22, and actress Yumiko Shaku, 31, picked up awards at the 7th “Clarino Beautiful Legs” ceremony held at the Westin Hotel in Tokyo on Monday. Nagasawa won in the 20s category and Shaku for women in their 30s.

Nagasawa highlighted her excellent form with a pair of bright pink stockings, but said: “I’m not really confident with my legs, and I’m a little embarrassed. But I’m still young, so I want to wear miniskirts and show off a bit of leg.”

Shaku, who also won the award in the 20s category at the inaugural awards in 2003, wore a strapless dress which finished just above her knees. She said she would do her best to win an award in her 40s as well.

Singer and former Takarazuka star Tsubasa Makoto, 44, who won in the 40s and above category, chipped in and said she hoped the sponsors would create an award for women around 60, so that she too could pick up another award one day.

In the sports category, beach volleyball player Satoko Urata, 28, won the award.
