Nagiko Tono breaks record for shortest showbiz marriage – divorcing after 72 days

Actress Nagiko Tono, 29, revealed on her blog this week that she had gotten divorced on July 23, just 72 days after registering her marriage on May 13.
Tono married a 27-year-old man working in the food and beverage industry after dating him for six months, and wrote on her blog around the time of their marriage that she thought he was “someone she would always be hand-in-hand with, no matter what awaited them in the future.”
She wrote on Monday that the pair had agreed to get divorced and that they would start anew as friends. She did not elaborate on what led to the break-up, but prior to her July 15 entry – when she suddenly announced she would be taking a break from her blog – she often gave the impression that things were going well. Tono’s agency did not provide any further details.
The 72-day marriage is believed to be the shortest marriage involving someone in the Japanese entertainment world.

I know I'll get a lot of flack for this, but my experience is that really attractive J-ladies are very high maintenance -- seriously self-focused and immature. I can only begin to imagine how bad that would be if they were a celebrity. I agree with observerhere and norinrad21 -- Good that he got out early and with a minimum of damage.

I'm not sure...should you go about breaking your own records? As a Japanese tarento she's capable of so much more. Eating most disgusting food while saying "oishiiiiii" with a straight face. Longest pause/blankest expression before laughing hysterically at a comedian host's joke. Most variety show appearances in a week. Fakest smile. Most consecutive rooftop/seaside appearances in a drama. I don't think she should pigeonhole herself.

Matumura Kunihiro has the shortest record for a showbiz marriage. He married in the morning and divorced the same day that afternoon.
Granted, it was part of a TV show bit and done to see if it could be done but he is considred to have been legally married and legally divorced.
