TOKYO —
Singer Namie Amuro, 32, is set to unleash another side of herself next month when her new album “PAST < FUTURE” hits music shelves around the country.
Posters featuring Amuro’s face concealed behind an image from her previous album “BEST FICTION” - which sold over 1.7 million copies - have been in stores for the past couple of weeks, but they were replaced on Thursday with posters of her ripping apart the old image to expose a new and vibrant Amuro.
Amuro declared: “I want to go back to the start and make a fresh beginning,” and said she is readying herself for next year’s nationwide tour that begins in April.
“PAST < FUTURE” goes on sale Dec 16 for 3,059 yen. The CD plus DVD which features Amuro in six video clips costs 3,990 yen.

I can't help but pay attention whenever I see one of her commercials on TV.

Overrated and pompous. Can't stand a hypocritical celeb who will bear it all for a "Gentleman's" magazine, yet go ballistic when a private citizen snaps a photo of her with her son at a convenience store.

BLUE TIGER: The private citizen is invading a public person's meager amount of privacy with her child.
And besides, would you like your kid's face all over the internet as a kidnapper magnet?

it was more about someone taking pics of her son than of her

nightvision - Invading? At a Seven-Eleven? Since when is Seven-Eleven Ms. Amuro's "private" place? And if Japan is so safe, what does Ms. Amuro have to fear from her son's foto being on the internet? Why all the "privacy" stuff now? Seems other, more famous celebs have no problem with their childrens' mugs being all over the `Net; what's Ms. Amuro's problem?
Yomuri - She was in the foto also. Again, its a double-standard on her part, and it was a public place; wasn't liek the photographer took pictures of them at her home. She and her son were out in a public place.
If she's "woman" enough to bare it all for a "Gentleman's" rag, she should be grown-up enough not to have a tantrum (and a lawsuit) against a photographer who merely took a snap of her and her son coming out of a public place.

The 'new' girl has the same malady as the old one- she can't sing. A pretty package, but grating vocals.

wow, starting from beginning, but so far her music has been excellent!! New beat every time just making the best every time, she is kind of young for her age but thats called work and healthy. WE LOVE U NAMIE, GANBATTE!!!

what "bare it all" article are u talking about? She hasnt done any nude photos?
bushlover at 12:10 PM JST - 29th November
I agree her singing isn't my favorite but I do like the girl. She is a beauty and I don't begrudge her her career. I won't say she's terrible but not my cup of tea. Her music may however appeal to others. And I think that if she's not being paid for it that people should be polite and ask for a photo not just snap away. That is the lowest of papparazzi type of person.

Is she really worth paying over ¥3000 for her cd?
