Namie Amuro shines in new commercial for Vidal Sassoon
Entertainment ( 18 )
TOKYO —
Singer Namie Amuro, 32, continues to shine in her fourth installment of commercials for hair care brand Vidal Sassoon, which will air next month.
The first one airs from Oct 1 and sees Amuro reborn in space before floating back down to Earth, her hair shining in the glow of the sun and flowing freely in the vacuum of space.
The second one features Amuro decked out in Russian, Los Angeles and British fashion and airs from Oct 15. Amuro said on the latter commercial: “We tried to project the flavor of each area in both the hairstyle and the fashion. I don’t dress up like this often, so it was very refreshing.”
Two new songs by Amuro – “My Love” and “Copy That” – play in the commercials and are scheduled to be on her new album due out at the end of the year.

She is an absolutely gorgeous woman, who is also a talented singer and dancer. I just wish that she would put on some weight to have a fuller figure, because she is a role model for a lot of young Japanese women.

Saw her in a very casual environment once, she wore little or no make up and wore very casual clothing. She has a natural beauty and was friendly and down-to-earth. Glad to see she's got her life back in track after the first marriage hiccup.

She did put on weight, she had a baby. You just didn't see. Then she lost it and came back to public light.

She is a very poor singer. I wonder how she went to the top of the charts. Wait...is is Japan, no wonder.

she's not even considered really skinny in japan. there are many skinnier japanese girls. and plus, i think she put on some weight.

@techall: Did she say much to you? What was it for? And how long ago was it? Sorry for the barrage of questions I'm just very curious.
@LoveUSA: She's not a poor singer at all. She doesn't lipsynch at all and can sing 30 songs in tune at her concerts. She had to work her way back to the top again on the basis of her own merits. Hell, back in the 90s she was praised for being an idol with actual singing and dancing talent. So what if it's Japan? There are plenty of singers popular worldwide who can't sing live for shit. Japan isn't the only place with shitty pop singers, but Namie definitely isn't one of them.

Not impressed by her. She can bare it all or most of it for any rag that offers her the money, but the minute a reporter takes a photo of her and her son out walking, she hasa hissy fit and throws the photographer into court, suing him and his employer for gazillions of yen. Amazing how the shameless have selective shame....

How is showing her legs and belly when dancing 'baring it all'? And please, even celebs have a right to privacy. She's not stupid, if she didn't have a case then she would not have sued. And guess what? The case ended months ago, and she won it. So get over it.

I've lived in Japan awhile, and I've seen her gracing the covers of Men’sWeeklies enough to know that she's baring more than just her legs. As far as her "privacy" issues, how is it invading her privacy when someone takes a foto of her when she's out in Public? And if she won that case, then that just makes her more pathetic in my book. So much for freedom of expression in Japan, especially when a photo-journalist takes a snap in public. Wasn't like he tailed her or anything.

Namie has never done a nude photo-shoot in her life; surely you must be confusing her with some other trash. She has a little something called class. About the photos, I'm sure she wouldn't have cared if it was her walking, but she's extremely protective when it comes to her son. It's not your place to judge. Publishing photos of an outing with her and her son for NO reason at all, with no excuse, is why she had a case. She's actually made it clear before that she doesn't want him photographed, but they didn't listen, and so... hikes for them. You complain about freedom of expression? Over something like this? Over a woman not wanting her child in the public eye? Yeah, no. Get over it. How hypocritical for you to complain about 'freedom of expression' when you're chiding Namie for 'supposedly' baring it all (which she never has and never will).
