TOKYO —
Singer Namie Amuro, 30, this week topped Oricon’s music chart for the first time in 10 years with her new single album “60s, 70s, 80s.” The new album features some reworked songs from other artists, such as “Baby Love” (1960s), “Rock steady” (1970s) and “What a feeling” (1980s). The album was produced in collaboration with hair care product brand Vidal Sassoon.
Amuro debuted in 1992 as a singer for the group Super Monkeys and became a nationwide star. She gradually shifted her style from pop to R&B.
