News presenter Mao Kobayashi rallies working women

TOKYO —

Freelance news presenter Mao Kobayashi, 25, was the guest speaker at an event on Saturday organized by Nikkei WOMAN magazine to announce the top 100 “women-friendly” companies.

Kobayashi told the gathering: “One’s work life can be just as fulfilling as one’s private life.  Our challenge is to find the right balance between working life and private life. You may find tough challenges in your job but find something that you can enjoy doing and always be ready to smile.”

P&G was ranked the best company for women in Japan.

What's a "freelance news presenter"? Sounds like she reads the paper to random people in the streets.

    What's a "freelance news presenter"?
