Thank god Sam Mendes decided to move on. Skyfall was a huge disappointment.

Skyfall was thrilling...what a ride. Loved it.

Live and Let Die will always be my favorite. Loved the boat chase! The Man with the Golden Gun comes a close second.

As I really enjoy Daniel Craig's take on Bond, I wish that they would crank these out at a faster pace while he is still young enough to pull it off.

Skyfall was fantastic and Daniel Craig rocks James Bond. I was skeptical to begin with but he nailed it. The only one really who has managed to follow old Sean and do a decent job. Roger Moores eyebrow was fantastic, but the rest of him was way too smarmy.

Live and Let Die was my favourite too, although Skyfall has just pipped it now. My witch Mother in Law said to me as I was going out the door "What movie are you seeing?" I said "Skyfall." She said "Oh, I saw that last Saturday! M....." - well, unlike her I wont ruin it for anyone who hasnt yet seen it but while my husband sat beside me through the whole movie with his mouth wide open, I sat there miserable knowing exactly what was coming. What a witch!

Three years is quite a long time... lets hope they come up with a better plot (and movie) than the dissapointing Skyfall which centered on James B's mother issues...

Within three years? Why? You have the impetus of the most successful British film ever behind you. Use it.

Seriously ! Three years to take to make one movie ? I think if directors like Peter Jackson can produce movies in a time-frame which are released one movie every year for three years, what is stopping MGM from doing the same?

Maybe MGM just made so much money they don't need to make Bond films so often. Hey MGM, let me remind you, Bond films are made for fans, not for you!

Craig said in an interview that he isn't that desperate to do Bond all the time. I imagine he has other projects that keep him from doing back-to-back Bond. He is very good though, albeit a tad too metro.

Please note that Daniel Craig makes other movies in between his Bond outings.

@oz_monster. The Lord of the rings trilogy and the Hobbit movies were filmed as one movie. That is not 'producing' a movie every year for 3 years. Thats called stretching it out and taking the piss out of the customer.

LOL skyfall was THAT good huh?

BTW I have to point out that Daniel Craig makes a great bond.

Skyfall was average. Craig is ok as Bond. Mendes "moving on" is a bot of an odd way to say he doesn't want to do another.

Having gone to drive-in's to see Bond movies as a kid. I can say that I have seen most James Bond movies on the Big screen. As it used to be called, not long ago. The excitement of hearing about a new Bond movie and reading about it builds the excitement. When the movie hits the big screen, wow. The last 3 movies with Daniel Craig were pretty good and worthy of the Bond saga. If the story line is good and well written, I don't think who is the director is all that important. Of course actors are doing different roles in between movies that have a series to them. Otherwise they wouldn't be a very good actor, playing only one role.

Not saying Skyfall was the best, am saying the shout-outs and allusions to the early Bond films was neat and getting more of Bond's backstory is nice. It was more than just "go get the bad guy (using a submarine-car and laser-watch)." It worked for me.

I loved Skyfall. Wasn't perfect, I thought the scenes at the castle were actually a bit anti-climatic in comparison to the grandness of the scenes in Turkey, Macau and London. But it was still very, very enjoyable. And after Quantum of Solace seemed like it was ashamed to be a Bond film, having a return to the classic tropes was sorely needed.

Now that we've got Ralph Fiennes' M as well as Moneypenny and Q back into the franchise, I'm really looking forward to the next installment. Would be nice to revisit Quantum (the only good thing from QoS) as a modern-day version of SPECTRE and maybe bring back Blofeld.

Skyfall was good, but it was missing some KEY Bond elements:

Not enough car chases Not enough focus on the the Bond car (which always steals the show!) Not enough gadgets

This isn't news in that the Bond movies are shot all over the world & take a long time before wrapping them up. Didn't care too much for D.Craig as Bond up until Skyfall, with a lot of great stunts & grunts!
