TOKYO —
NHK BS has announced its new crew of newscasters who include previous NHK announcer-turned-freelancer, 54-year-old Masaaki Horio. Horio, who left NHK in March 2008, will present BS High-vision’s “Chikyu (Earth) Document Mission” which will air each Sunday from April 4 at 9 p.m.
He said of his return, “The fact that I came back so quickly just goes to show what a good place this is.” Horio currently works on commercial broadcasts, but said, “I feel more comfortable working at NHK because it doesn’t have to worry about ratings.”
Horio will be joined by lawyer Kanae Doi and Iran-born model and “talent” Sahel Rosa.

Feel sorry for the subscribers (NHK BS).
Yes, getting paid like any other government employee.

A Jp government sponsored eco-program? That has to be a contradiction of terms.

Eco? What eco?? The discarding of 50 million analogue CRT TVs prior to the switchover to digital creates pollution up the kazoo.

Horio is very entertaining. I will watch this program because of him. Great fashion style too.
