Norika Fujiwara visits evacuees in Fukushima

FUKUSHIMA —

Norika Fujiwara visited an evacuee center in Fukushima City on Sunday in her capacity as a goodwill amabassador for the Japan Red Cross.

Fujiwara helped serve soup at a temporary hosuing complex for 400 evacuees. She also delivered warm clothes, kotatsu tables and insulation sheets to cover windows. The popular actress hugged elderly people and encouraged them.

    It mus suck for celebrities who actually want to give back to the community, as anyone should. Anytime they do anything good, they get accused of doing it for the publicity. Good for Norika.

    Publicity works both ways. Publicity for her, or publicity for the people who are still stranded in temporary homes, that many of the rest of Japan have almost forgotten.

    Keeping them in the frontline should be in most peoples minds - this kind of publicity is a good thing.

    I completely agree. Norika was on TV and she made some old lady in the Fukushima evac center very happy.
