TOKYO —
Former Morning Musume singer Nozomi Tsuji, 22, was the guest of honor at a recent promotional event for the 2008 Emmy-winning American TV series “Pushing Daisies.”
The show, which lasted two seasons on ABC, features a pie maker, Ned, who was born with the ability to revive the dead just by touching them. However, if he touches them a second time, they will die again—and stay dead. A crazy turn of events finds Ned resuscitating his first love with his powers, only to be faced with the dilemma of not being able to lay a single finger again on her.
“I can’t wait to watch the next episode,” Tsuji gushed after viewing the first episode. “I can’t imagine not being able to touch the person I love, because I’m very affectionate.”
In honor of Ned’s profession as a pie maker, Tsuji was presented with a pie made in the shape of a ribbon and filled with sweet potatoes.
Reminiscing on her own love life, she said: “I was the one who madly approached my husband. I got rejected three times before he finally asked me out. It’s hard having a crush on someone because you can’t snuggle up to them no matter how much you want to.”
“Pushing Daisies” airs on AXN Sundays from 9 p.m.

Great series. Japan should learn how to make good TV too instead of the unending crap they broadcast here.
As for empty headed talento. Enough already!

Enragebees, I think it's "koi suru pie maker". I caught the first episode on Sunday and so far so good.
And as for this drivel with the totally unconnected celeb, why JapanToday, do you insist on including this pap on your site?
I guess because it generates comments. Even when it's mostly comments saying it's lame, they're still comments, so it reinforces the inclusion. Sad, that.

taj - Exactly. I think it's because without the "celeb" this couldn't really class it as entertainment news and this section would be almost devoid of content.

i'm so not going to miss this kind of thing

Great on JT entertainment page I have the promo for a non-japanese tv serial promoted by some giggly Jlass, holding something ludicrous in the hand. Below that the ad for Asian dating with a "very Asia" beauty; And on the right hand bottom an ad for "key to Joy and Happiness in God" video!!!

I want to know how exactly talents are chosen. I'm willing to bet there are some pretty deep rug-burns on the carpet of the talent agency that promotes her. That's the only explanation I can possibly come up with.

Tsuji is so cute i hope she returns to singing. America has the knack for canceling good shows and keeping the crappy ones japan should learn from our mistakes.

"I want to know how exactly talents are chosen." They are not choosen, they are bred in biolabs somewhere. It is the only explaination for their universal lack of talent.

Wow another idol, another chance for everyone to have a go at her. Has anyone here actually seen Tsuji preform? At the Hello! Project graduation concerts she did an amazing job, considering that she had almost 2 years of inactivity due to her pregnancy. She probably would be a lot better know if Kago hadn't kept getting into scandels and caused W to disband.

the whole entertainment industry in Japan is like that old tv show "The Monkeys."

It certainly was a very good show. But it had a lot of things against it. It's an hour long show, every episode had a new cast of characters with new costumes, a ton of detailed props and sets, and a tone of CG and special effects to supplement those sets. All that meant the show was expensive.
If they'd gotten the show going internationally when it first came out they might have been able to make a third season.

@bamboohat: Hahaha. You sir are correct.

Nobodies talking about nothing. Bad grammar yes, but why should I make the effort to get it right when nobody else does?
How can a bubble brain talking about yet another 5th. rate American TV show generate so many comments? The subject is meaningless, it’s the comments I find of interest.

I don't much about her, but if she is only 22 now, when did she have a baby? How old is the child now?

Tsuji is pretty cool.
