I want digitally animated movies to be more than uninspired imitations of long-exhausted TV and cartoon shtick, voiced by overpaid Hollywood stars with the animated character tweaked to resemble the star or mimic their personality. I don't want to see a bug or fish with Queen Latifah's voice saying "talk to the hand" or whatever, and simply re-creating all the boring, trivial cliches we already know and saw elsewhere. And I don't want my kids to sit there slack-jawed watching that either. How about something new that does justice to the new and unlimited potential of computer-generated movies. I hope these new Pixar projects can break the mold. I hope they don't feel their creation is so weak that it needs to be buoyed up by overpaid stars doing voiceovers and promotional tours.

The one about the brain sounds interesting. That's something you don't see coming out of Pixar very often.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I find recent Pixar and Dreamworks animations to be somewhat lacking... they are entertaining to a certain degree, but I find their earlier work much more "family" friendly, with simple enough plots to keep little kids interested and a few innocent adult jokes for the parents.

My favourite Pixar movie line is from Monsters Inc when they Abominable Snowman offers Sully and Mike yellow coloured snow cones. Mike looks away in disgust and the snowman quickly adds "Don't worry, it's lemon". Classic! ^o^

I'd love to see Pixar try something along the lines of Disney's Fantasia. Just a showcase for visuals and music, pure fantasy.

bunch of complainers here. Pixar is delivering outstanding animated movies. And how are Wall-E, Up and Nemo not original? Looking forward to this

pixar movies do very well at the box office and therefore will be continued for those who don't like hollywood tentpoles thare are thousands of movies that are made every year that don't get the marketing exposure that the tentpoles get, you need to be willing to "dig" " experiment" and you can find them. if you don't like pixar movies, don't go
